3 Pillars of a Healthy Lifestyle

According to Ayurveda, to live a healthy lifestyle there are three areas of life that must be honored. These pillars are food, sleep, and vital energy. These lay the foundation for a fulfilling, healthy life.

Food

The food and drinks we put into our bodies turn into our literal body. What we eat matters. Seasonal eating, in gratitude, and with intentionality will assist our digestion. These habits allow our cells to better absorb the nutrients from the food we eat.

Sleep

Diabetes, hypertension, depression, and a slew of other diseases can all be a result of lack of sleep. Our body rejuvenates and restores itself while we sleep. Emotions are digested and our systems are renewed during sleep. Sleeping on a regular schedule and getting 7-8 hours a night makes a notable difference in our health and energy.

Vital energy a.k.a. Sex

Sexual energy is the foundation of our creativity and immunity. Sex with a loving partner can be a meditation, a connection to something bigger than ourselves. Be careful who you share your sexual energy with and who’s sexual energy you let in. For women, you are actually drawing your partners energy into you.

Sex can be a celebration, a connection. Don’t use sex to disconnect but to become deeply satisfied. This will spill over into other areas of life and help restore your power.
